Chloé Maurel

Chloé Maurel, a former student of the École Normale Supérieure de la Rue d'Ulm, she is an associate professor and doctor in contemporary history. Her thesis, completed and defended at the University Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne, focused on the history of UNESCO. After "History of UNESCO" (L'Harmattan, 2010) and "History of Ideas of the United Nations. The UN in 20 Concepts" (L'Harmattan, 2015), she has published with the editions du Croquant "A Brief History of the UN through its Leaders" (2017) and "Great Speeches at UNESCO" (2021), and "Great Speeches at the UN" (2024).

Her research focuses on the history of the UN and its agencies, global governance and contemporary international relations, world and global history, and the people of the Global South.

She is a partner researcher of Sorbonne-Sirice and an associated researcher at the Thucydides Center (University Paris II).
