Project presenters Portraits > Juliette DumontJuliette Dumont Lecturer in contemporary history at the Institute of Advanced Latin American Studies (Sorbonne Nouvelle University) and researcher at the Center for Research and Documentation on the Americas (CREDA UMR 7227), Juliette Dumont currently directs the Franco-Argentine Center of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences. She was president of the Association for Research on Brazil in Europe from 2015 to 2020. Juliette Dumont works on Latin American cultural diplomacies and on Pan-Americanism in its cultural and educational dimension. She notably published Cultural Diplomacy and the Making of Identities. Argentina, Brazil, Chile (1919-1946) (Presses universitaire de Rennes, 2018); “Pan-American Intellectual Cooperation” in the work coordinated by Juan Pablo Scarfi and David Sheinin, The New Pan-Americanism and the Structuring of Inter-American Relations (Routledge, 2022) and “Pan-Americanism, crucible and crossroads of internationalism educational (1917-1945)” in the journal International Relations (2020/3, n°183). *** She will speak by opening the conference with her inaugural lecture “For a history of international relations from Latin America”. *** |
