Lourdes Pluvinage

Born in Arequipa, Peru, Lourdes Pluvinage holds a degree in social sciences from the Federico Villareal University in Lima. She learned the secrets of Peruvian cuisine from her mother and it was during a stay in France that she felt the need to communicate the richness of her country to the world’s gastronomic capital.

In 1994, together with Eduardo Justo Caballero, they created a restaurant,  El Picaflor, which she still runs (Eduardo Justo Caballero was a great promoter of Peruvian culture and tourism in France).

Graduated from the Ferrandi school in 2008, as well as from the Monte Catini school in Lima, she taught Peruvian cuisine at the Cordon Bleu school in Paris for seven years. In Peru, in 2010, she had the exceptional honor of being awarded the Merit Order "El Comendador" for distinguished services.

Her son, Christophe Pluvinage, also a Ferrandi school graduate, is passionate about mixology and particularly about Pisco (Peruvian brandy distilled from grapes). After a long study trip on this spirit in the heart of Peru, he was awarded at the 2018 Paris Pisco Week, obtaining the prize for the Best Pisco Sour in France. It is a great pride to see this Peruvian passion pass from one generation to the next.

Lourdes Pluvinage will speak during the tasting-conference "Gastro-diplomacy, a new vector of international integration in Latin America? The Peruvian example."
