Pablo Palomino Pablo Palomino is a historian and Associate Professor of Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Oxford College, Emory University. He studied at the University of Buenos Aires and the University of California, Berkeley. He has published "The Invention of Latin American Music: A Transnational History" (OUP, 2020, and in Spanish by FCE in 2021), a study of the transnational networks that have "invented" a pan-regional musical tradition. He has also published works on Latin America's engagement with cultural globalization in the 20th century by studying Argentine public culture (the modernist sports magazine El Gráfico), Jewish musical migrations, and the scientific uses of the "Global South" category. *** |
