Elisa Santalena

Elisa Santalena is an associate professor at Université Grenoble Alpes. She is a member of the LUHCIE research center (University Laboratory of History Cultures Italy Europe) and an associate member of the CRIX (Italian Research Center, Université Paris Nanterre). Her expertise lies in the history and civilization of contemporary Italy. In particular, she focuses on the long Italian and international 1968, political violence and armed struggle within the prison system, as well as international relations and diplomatic issues (Italy-Chile). Her forthcoming HDR thesis, titled September 11, 1973: An Italo-Chilean History at the Heart of the Cold War, will soon be published.
