Eline van Ommen Eline van Ommen is a Lecturer in Contemporary History at the University of Leeds. She is a historian of Latin America and the Cold War, specializing in revolutions, transnational activism, and Central America. Her first monograph Nicaragua Must Survive: Sandinista Revolutionary Diplomacy in the Global Cold War was published by the University of California Press in December 2023. An expert on the Nicaraguan Revolution, she also co-edited and contributed an article to the special issue ‘Internationalizing Revolution’ for the peer-reviewed journal The Americas. Eline is currently developing her second research project on the Central American peace processes and the end of the Cold War. Eline completed her PhD in International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2020. Her thesis won the British International History Group (BIGH) Michael Dockrill thesis prize in 2021. She previously taught history and international relations at the Utrecht University and the LSE. *** |
