🧑💼 Organizing committee Portraits > Giulia Calderoni
Giulia Calderoni Giulia Calderoni is currently a PhD candidate in contemporary history at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (USN) and is affiliated with the Research and Documentation Center on the Americas (CREDA, UMR 7227). During her Bachelor's degree in Linguistic and Intercultural Mediation at the University of Rome "La Sapienza," she deepened her interest in Latin America, leading her to join the Master's program in International Studies at IHEAL-CREDA (USN). Her doctoral research focuses on Argentine exiles in Italy during the years 1974-1983. The objective is to study and shed light on the experience of these exiles, analyzing their relationships with the Italian population and political actors. Through the prism of the exiles, she aims to address the relations between the two countries at different levels. Militant and political circulations are thus at the center of her interests. Since 2017, she has been a Cultore della materia in "Storia dei paesi dell'America latina" at the University of Bergamo, Italy. Between 2016 and 2019, she was a member of the working group "Violencia y migraciones forzadas" of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), which in 2018 allowed her to write the chapter "Exilio y militancia: el caso de los exiliados argentinos en Italia en los años setenta" in the book "Exilios: un campo de estudios en expansión, Buenos Aires," directed by Enrique Coraza de los Santos and María Soledad Lastra. *** Giulia Calderoni is in charge of the table 5 - "Militant circulations and transnational politics". *** |
